This work is very interesting to me and I always wanted to do some design of wearable technology before this, because it can improve people’s life quality and bring people’s life fun. The words I chose were Crazy House, Construct and Sooth. And I wanted to combine the culture of this tribe with wearable technology to make a novel design, so I investigated the wearable features of this tribe and some functions of wearable technology, which could give me a deeper understanding and analysis.
After that, I found out the wearing characteristics of this tribe, and I found that they would wear many feather ornaments, most of which appeared on their heads, such as hats made of feathers. After careful observation, I found that these feathers all looked different, so I drew their different shapes and contours with AI, and tried to integrate these feather elements into the clothing. Because in the beginning, I wanted to design the function that the feather pattern on the clothes would gradually appear with the change of temperature. For example, if the hug between friends lasted more than three seconds, the feather pattern would appear with the rise of temperature.
But then I came up with the idea of turning them into multi-function headphones or necklaces. I created many different designs with the shape of feathers, but in the end, I chose the three that I thought looked good and were most likely to achieve. The first design uses a technology called bone conduction, a Bluetooth headset that allows you to listen to music without entering your ear. The necklace is designed to use a sensor to measure body temperature and heart rate at any time. Generally speaking, I like the bone conduction Bluetooth headset best, because I like its shape design and function design, which will bring people a comfortable life.
