Industry Project

This is a group project, we are responsible for the brand Calvin Klein, and I am responsible for accessory in this project.

For this project we have around the centre is to break the Calvin Klein, the original framework, let more on product design, and so our inspiration from the water, because water can there are many kinds of forms: drip, bubble, ripple, etc., we can add the details and shape to our design, we want to let the customer feel the design of this product is a sense of flow, changeful and comfortable. I especially investigated the accessories and future development trend of CK and found that the design was too simple and ordinary, so I found some designs and materials, which I wanted for reference and comparison.

In order to better create the shape, I chose to use the thin iron wire as the material to make some samples. Their design is derived from the changeable shape of water. In addition, I also made bags and hats, using the basic materials of bubble wrap, denim, and PVC. I choose to use these materials because they can be found on the body like water, for example, bubble wrap is like a lot of regular raindrops, PVC is like water blown by wind, there are many irregular ripples, while denim as a base will be through the translucent bubble wrap to present a faint light blue. Then I dyed the white organza light blue and woven it with PVC as part of the straps.

Among these works, my favourite is the bag, because I like the design of my three different pockets very much, and the design of the straps floating out is very casual, it doesn’t look very regular, I like this visual effect very much.
